Al bij de allereerste afspraak met hun wedding planner wisten Marianna en Theo wat zij wilden voor hun bruiloft: een iconische locatie met een urban chique styling. Dit vonden zij bij het museum voor Byzantijnse cultuur in de stad waar zij opgroeiden; Thessaloniki in Griekenland.
Dat fine art en stoer prima samengaan laat wedding planner en styliste Konstantina van Soo Events zien. Zij plande een prachtige feestavond waarin de gasten werden omgeven door uitbundig groen, vele lichtjes en prachtige, urban chique gedekte tafels. Het kleurenpatroon van zwart en goud gaat perfect samen met het marmerpatroon en wordt gecombineerd met velen witte pioenrozen.

Konstantina vertelt: “There is no greater blessing than getting to work with couples that have an excellent sense of style. Especially when they manage to bring their impeccable taste into the design of their wedding day. This ultra chic couple travelled from London to get married among family and friends in their hometown, Thessaloniki, in Greece.

Het plannen van een urban chique bruiloft

“From the very first meetings, both Marianna and Theo were very specific about their wedding day. An iconic venue and an urban chic design. Therefore, we decided to book the outdoor space of the Museum of Byzantine Culture. This venue is considered one of the best works of public architecture created in the last decades in Greece. Off competition and after the death of its architect, Kyriakos Krokos, it was awarded a special distinction by an international committee by the Greek Institute of Architecture, being characterized as “exemplary in its kind and a worthy example of public building”. Also in 2001 it was listed by the Ministry of Culture as a historical monument and work of art.

We chose our main design elements based on the architecture and the history of the building. By doing so the design would be consistent with both the surroundings and the couple’s taste. Therefore, we created a minimal mood board with hints of marble, black and gold. The stationery, the welcome gifts, that included traditional treats, the favor boxes etc were all designed accordingly.”

Oscar Tiye & witte pioenrozen

“The bride wore an elegant tailor made wedding dress and gorgeous petrol heels by Oscar Tiye. The groom chose a bespoke dark blue tuxedo. Their ceremony took place at one of the oldest churches in Thessaloniki.  After its end, the guests were escorted to the venue by tour guides walking them through the city’s historic monuments, like the White Tower.

The flowers that we picked were mostly white for the church decoration. The bride’s bouquet was a stunning combination of white sweet peas and peonies. For the venue, we decided to use an assortment of greenery. Different types of fern, palm leaves, etc. with hints of white in between, in order to turn the outdoor space of the museum into a beautiful garden. At the entrance, we set a white wooden installation for the seating chart decorated with greenery. And also a dessert table, with a gorgeous three-tier cake with a blue-black brush stroke and marble patterned desserts.

Een urban chique dinner

The dinner set up consisted of round and long white marble tables, with clear charger and BB plates with a gold rim. Along with dinner plates with a marble pattern, golden flatware and prism iridescent glassware. As the night went by, Edison type lamps that were hanging over the tables and the dance floor lit up, turning the venue into a magical scenery. That, along with the couple’s amazing energy, made this wedding party a night to remember.”
