Spring has only just begun, but we are already feeling those sweet summer vibes. It’s the beautiful summer wedding of Paul and Liselotte and brings us to a sunny day in Belgium!
Both wanted a traditional wedding, but slightly different than the usual. At the Castle of Beervelde they were able to bring their dream wedding to live. They created a relaxed bohemian atmosphere with great styling and delicious food. Our Dusty Blue photographer Elisabeth van Lent was there to capture the day. And she loves to tell you more about this wonderful summer wedding.

About the couple

“Paul and Liselotte got to know each other on a party where Liselotte was working and Paul was attending. It was love at first sight! But since she was working, they needed several dates after that to really get things going. They found they had a mutual love for Disney, and later also for gaming. During the ceremony it became clear that they were loved very much by all friends and family. They truly are one of the kindest people you can imagine.

Paul asked Liselotte to marry her in Portofino, Italy. He carefully chose the perfect spot with the most magnificent view at the balcony of Castello Brown. After a road trip through Italy he thought this was the perfect place for a romantic lunch with some great white wine. There we got down on one knee to ask the big question. Of course Liselotte answered without a doubt and said yes!”

About this summer wedding

“Liselotte and Paul wanted to get away from the typical stiff Belgian wedding, but still keep several traditions alive. They both have a love for parties and an even bigger love for Disney. So this was exactly what they pictured their day like and well, it did. It was their own festival dream wedding, with a touch of Disney woven through the day. It was important to them to book a venue where they could style and do everything they wanted. This can be hard in Belgium with venues often only offering the same standard packages and styling.
Wildflowers and Vodka took care of the floral design and it was just marvelous. Weddingplanner Joke from Wonder Weddings created the bohemian chique festival of their dreams. Hereby the Castle of Beervelde was the most magnificent background for both the ceremony as the dinner and the party.
Their love for Disney was especially found in the stationery and in the live music played by the band during the reception. It was an almost fully Belgian wedding with all Belgian (and one Dutch) wedding vendors.

Favorite moment and biggest regret

If you ask Liselotte what she remembers mostly about her wedding day, she says without a doubt it’s the ceremony. It was a very emotional moment that they shared with their loved ones. Liselotte surprised her brand new husband by singing him a song with the voice of an angel. He and all guest were moved to tears.

The catering was provided by one of the companies of their family. If you ask Liselotte about her biggest regret on the wedding, it’s the fact that there was so much great food that she didn’t get to taste everything.”
