In this inspiring editorial, photographer Vildan Ersert shows it can! Together with a team of vendors she created an ultimate romantic inspiration decor for your waterside wedding.

Waterside wedding

When you want a waterside wedding, you may think of a beach wedding. But the Netherlands also offers many lakes and rivers surrounded by beautiful green nature. Photographer Vildan Ersert chose a beautiful location in the Kennemerduinen when organizing this editorial. Together with stylist Emilva Tervoort and florist Katya Hutter she created three romantic settings with a soft pink color palette and flowers in abundance.

Photographer Vildan says: “With a group of great vendors we put together a shoot to inspire bridal couples to have a waterside wedding. There is something magical about it, especially during sunset! For me, it exudes tranquility and romance. And those are two things I love to see in my work. I like pure, elegant and romantic photos, created with an eye for every detail. During this shoot I especially wanted to capture the love between two people. The decor with beautiful flowers by Katya Hutter and Emilva Tervoort’s beautifully styled table setting creates a soft, romantic atmosphere! And the perfect hair and make-up by Brigitte, the wedding stationery from Omera Paperworks and a delicious cake from Sweet Celebration have, in my opinion, completed the picture.”

Flower decorations full of roses, lathyrus and baby’s breath

Flowers play an important role in the styling of this editorial. Florist Katya Hutter tells: “The style of the flowers for this editorial is airy, natural, soft and romantic, with pastel colors and dusty pink. So of course I chose the ultimate dusty pink roses: the soft pink Bridesmaid rose and a special Cafe Latte rose. The combination of delicate scabiosa, gypsophila and aromatic lathyrus, lathyrus tendrils and subtle foliage makes the whole romantic, floral and soft. It is so beautiful to see that the flowers and nature of the dunes together form a whole.
I often work with the talented stylist Emilva Tervoort. She contributed to the beautiful table setting and brought a fantastic French trolley for the cake! The last part of the editorial was the sunset picnic. That was a beautiful moment. But this entire editorial was an unforgettable experience and the photos are very dear to me!”

Romantic photos with a golden sun

One of the reasons that having a waterside wedding is so magical is the beautiful sunset. For a wedding photographer, the golden hour, an hour before sunset, is the best light to take the most beautiful pictures of you. A golden tip is therefore to see in advance what time the sun sets and to schedule a (short) photo shoot around that time. Even if that is during your dinner, reception or party. You certainly won’t regret it!
